PROMOTING OPTIMUM CHILD DEVELOPMENT
The Nanaimo Child Development Centre is a community-based, non profit organization that has been an integral part of the community since 1967. The Child Development Centre has a mandate to provide individualized services for children, from birth to age 19, and their families that promote optimum child development.

Family Support Program


The Family Support Program receives referrals from the Ministry of Child and Family Development and Community Living Services. The program is available for families with a child/youth up to 19 years of age who is identified by the Ministry as having special needs. Parents can obtain referrals for the Family Services Program through a Community Living Services Branch Social Worker. The Social Worker will screen for eligibility.

The program provides therapeutic individual and group support, education and consultation to other involved agencies.
